Before Smudging:

Open a window or door to allow fresh air to circulate and the smoke to dissipate.

- Fireproof Container: Always use a fireproof bowl or shell to catch any ashes or embers.
- Clear Area: Ensure a clear and clean perimeter of at least 50 feet, free from any flammable materials.
- Unattended Smudge: Never leave a burning or smoldering smudge stick unattended.

Location:
- Away from Fabrics: Keep the lit smudge away from fabrics, draperies, curtains, and upholstered furniture.
- No Smudging in Closets: Do not smudge in clothing closets or anywhere that contains fabrics.
- Outdoors: Consider smudging outdoors in a safe area away from dry vegetation, especially during windy conditions.

Keep smudge sticks out of reach of children and pets.

Smudge Pot Safety:
If using a smudge pot, ensure it is used according to the manufacturer's instructions and keep it away from flammable materials.
